July Reflections + Big Marketing Changes You Should Know

Hey There!

July is my favorite month for many reasons: I love the warmth of the sun cooled off by a dip in the pool, it’s my birthday month, and it’s also a big birthday month for many of my family members. Now I get to add a new celebration to the calendar each year — the anniversary of starting my business, July 7!

While I opened for business in July, official filings have been in the works since May. Since then, it’s been a steady climb of laying foundations, exploring new systems, and figuring out what it actually takes to run a one-woman studio.

There’s a lot no one talks about: setting up bank accounts, getting licenses, registering for taxes, drafting policies, reviewing contracts, and organizing client workflows... The administrative side of entrepreneurship has kept me busy! There’s been plenty of creative work too, but I want to make note of how much operational effort goes into building a business that’s both present and professional.

It’s not glamorous, but it is real. I am so proud of what I’m building, and so grateful to have you celebrating along with me!

Now…

💡The Tip You’re Really Here For💡

Changes in Digital Marketing

Digital marketing is always evolving. It’s important to stay up to date on the latest information, but it can be overwhelming. Here are three key updates worth knowing:

Instagram posts now show up in Google Searches - July 2025

Instagram now officially allows public Business and Creator accounts to be indexed by Google and Bing. All your public posts from January 1, 2020 onward, including your captions, reels, carousels, and alt text, can now show up in search results, giving your content longer life and new reach!

Tip: Use searchable captions, geo-tags, and alt text! If you need help, reach out! I’m happy to provide guidance.

Google Core Algorithm Update - June 2025

Google released a broad core update in June, reinforcing it’s “people-first, helpful content” signal. Google wants to show content that answers real questions, solves real problems, and feels like it was written by and for real people… not bots or SEO hacks.

Tip: Keyword stuffing is out. Personal experiences and original insights are in! When creating content, ask yourself: “Does this help someone do or understand something better?” If yes, you’re on the right track.

LinkedIn Introduces Advanced Post Analytics - June 2025

LinkedIn introduced deeper analytics for creator posts, including profile activity, new followers, and link engagement. Going beyond likes and views, these metrics help you understand how your content performs and what it drives.

Tip: Review your analytics regularly! If a type of post brings high profile views but few clients, adapt your post next time to drive action.

 ICYMI - New Blog:

“Are Website Costs Worth It? A Cost Comparison for Online Sellers”

I get what it’s like to be comfortable with what you already use, but it could be costing you.

A website is an investment, yes, but it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg… which is what other selling platforms might be charging you in fees.

Online Sellers: I challenge you to check out the comparison!

Project Kickoffs!

💇‍♀️A Stylist and A Wedding💍

Okay, this sounds like a Rom-Com waiting to happen! But these are two separate projects.

Styles.By.Maddy and I connected this week to kick off her website project! She has been a fan-favorite hair stylist in Gaithersburg, MD since 2020. We’re designing her online portfolio to build her digital presence and share her beautiful looks with the rest of the world! This will be a long term, slower moving launch, but keep an eye out later this year for her new site! In the meantime, consider booking with her for your summer look!

Bernoshii.com is going to be the name of my wedding website! My partner, Josh and I got engaged while on vacation in Ireland. While we love what TheKnot and Zola do to make the wedding planning process easier, it doesn’t quite offer the customization we really want to see on our wedding website. What others cannot do, I shall do myself! I’m super excited for this project, both personally and professionally. Keep an eye on what’s to come and consider reaching out if you share the same frustrations!!

 What’s Up Next

The next few weeks are shaping up to be equal parts creative and foundational. I’m excited to share what’s in motion!

On the Blog

Next up: a real-time breakdown of my paid ad experiments - the kind you run with a $5 budget and a curious mind.

If you’ve ever wondered whether paid ads are right for your business, this will give you the clarity you need to make a decision.

Behind the Scenes

While the public-facing side of Threadlined Presence has been all about content and client work, I’m also laying down some serious building blocks behind the scenes, including building internal workflows to onboard new clients more smoothly, reviewing accounting tools and systems, and developing my DIY Website Handbook for those who want to build their own presence but need a guide.
